Position Purpose

The Assistant Home Shopping Manager supports the Home Shopping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the online grocery fulfillment department. This position assists with managing order fulfillment, associate performance, customer satisfaction, productivity, and operational execution to ensure customers receive accurate, high-quality orders in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities Department Operations

- Assist in managing the daily operation of the Home Shopping Department.

- Support order fulfillment activities to ensure customer orders are picked, staged, and delivered accurately and on time.

- Monitor workflow and staffing levels to maintain service standards and operational efficiency.

- Assist with managing department schedules and labor allocation.

- Ensure department processes are executed according to company standards and expectations.

Leadership & Team Development

- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Home Shopping associates.

- Assist with training new associates on order fulfillment, customer service, and department procedures.

- Monitor associate productivity and provide performance feedback.

- Foster a positive, customer-focused work environment.

- Serve as department leader in the absence of the Home Shopping Manager.

Customer Experience

- Ensure customers receive accurate, complete, and high-quality orders.

- Address customer concerns and service recovery opportunities promptly and professionally.

- Promote a superior online shopping experience through excellent service execution.

- Support customer communication regarding substitutions, shortages, and order concerns.

- Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement improvement strategies.

Order Fulfillment & Quality Control

- Ensure online orders are selected according to company quality standards.

- Verify product freshness, accuracy, and proper substitutions.

- Monitor order completion times and department productivity metrics.

- Ensure proper staging and handling of customer orders.

- Assist in resolving fulfillment issues and operational challenges.

Inventory & Merchandising

- Partner with store departments to maintain product availability.

- Monitor out-of-stock conditions and communicate opportunities for improvement.

- Ensure proper inventory handling and shrink reduction practices.

- Support accurate inventory management and replenishment processes.

- Assist with maintaining department equipment and operational supplies.

Compliance & Safety

- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and operational procedures.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

- Promote safe work practices and proper equipment usage.

- Support department audits and operational reviews.

- Ensure associates complete required compliance and safety training.

Financial Performance

- Support achievement of sales, labor, productivity, and profitability goals.

- Monitor department labor utilization and productivity metrics.

- Assist with managing operating expenses and reducing waste.

- Support initiatives that increase customer adoption and sales growth.

- Help drive department performance through operational excellence.
