About the Team & The Role
As a Systems Administrator Intern, you will work with the Open Systems Administration Team. The Open Systems Administration Team focuses on solving providing technology solutions to PACCAR. As part of a diversified global Fortune 500 company, the Open Systems Administration Team works on a huge variety of projects: from infrastructure as code, cloud migration, and disaster recovery planning. The Open Systems Administration Team is working on high-impact and high-visibility projects. This position supports PACCAR’s Open Systems Administration team in delivering reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure services across a global environment. The Systems Administrator Intern will assist with infrastructure modernization, disaster recovery readiness, Azure Local migration activities, reporting development, automation, and technical procedure documentation. This role provides hands-on experience supporting business-critical systems while contributing to high-visibility projects that improve operational efficiency, resilience, and service delivery. Job Responsibilities
- Support Azure Local migration planning and execution, including server readiness, workload tracking, validation, and migration documentation.
- Assist with disaster recovery initiatives by documenting recovery procedures, supporting test preparation, and helping validate recovery objectives and system dependencies.
- Develop and maintain technical procedures, support documentation, and operational runbooks for infrastructure administration tasks.
- Contribute to Azure reporting development by gathering infrastructure data, validating report outputs, and helping improve visibility into system health, capacity, and migration progress.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine administration, reporting, monitoring, and maintenance activities to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Assist with server administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and optimization to help ensure reliable operation of PACCAR business-critical systems.
Required Experience & Skills
- Foundational IT knowledge gained through coursework, academic projects, internships, or other relevant experience
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask within a fast-paced environment
- Communicate clearly with team members, technical support groups, and management
Education
Preferred Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
