Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex, custom-engineered equipment and packaged systems. This role is responsible for coordinating projects from design through fabrication, assembly, testing, and final delivery while managing internal teams, external vendors, customers, schedules, budgets, and documentation. The ideal candidate comes from an equipment manufacturing, industrial, or engineered-product environment and understands the challenges associated with delivering customized physical products.

Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end delivery of custom-engineered equipment and packaged systems from design through build, testing, and final delivery.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, operations, service teams, suppliers, fabrication partners, and customers.
- Manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
- Act as the central point of coordination between technical teams, vendors, operations, and customers throughout project execution.
- Maintain oversight of project scope, cost, schedule, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Conduct and participate in customer-facing meetings, including design reviews, project progress meetings, and testing or acceptance reviews.
- Support the fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, commissioning, and delivery of complex industrial equipment.
- Identify project risks, resolve issues, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and performance targets are achieved.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiencies.
- Ensure project documentation, technical records, change orders, and other project deliverables remain accurate and up to date.
- Apply practical knowledge of engineered products to anticipate challenges and mitigate risks throughout the design, build, and delivery process.

Essential Skills

- 5+ years of project management experience involving the build, assembly, installation, commissioning, or delivery of complex industrial equipment or engineered products.
- Experience supporting equipment through fabrication, assembly, testing, installation, or commissioning.
- Demonstrated understanding of taking a custom-engineered product from design through manufacturing and final delivery.
- Experience managing large, technically complex projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, and deliverables.
- Technical background in engineering, trades, manufacturing, or another relevant industrial discipline.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working within manufacturing, fabrication, industrial construction, or equipment-based environments.
- Experience managing project documentation, technical changes, and change orders.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Comfortable working directly with engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, and field teams rather than managing projects solely from a desk.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential is considered an asset.
- Experience with complex industrial equipment, machinery, packaged systems, or other custom-engineered products.
- Previous hands-on technical, trades, engineering, or manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies.
- Experience coordinating external suppliers, subcontractors, or fabrication partners.
- background in manufacturing, industrial equipment, fabrication, construction, or other environments where physical products are engineered, built, tested, and delivered.
- Experience supporting installation, commissioning, or field activities is considered an asset.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position that provides direct access to engineering, operations, and other project stakeholders. The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with multiple complex equipment projects running concurrently. The Project Manager will work closely with internal technical teams, external vendors, and customers to coordinate project execution from engineering through manufacturing, testing, and delivery. The position offers exposure to technically challenging projects and opportunities for continued professional growth.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, BC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.97 - $69.23/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Workplace Type
This is a hybrid position in Vancouver,BC.
