Job Description

We are seeking a Distribution Engineer to join an established power engineering team in Orlando, FL . This is an opportunity to work on high-impact electric utility and energy projects while developing your technical expertise within a collaborative, industry-leading environment.

Responsibilities

- Design and support power distribution projects from development through completion.
- Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, and fault currents.
- Coordinate protective devices and distribution system requirements.
- Support permitting, Right-of-Way acquisition, and forestry trimming requests.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and project cost estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, and construction partners.
- Approximately 90% design/engineering work and 10% fieldwork.

Essential Skills

- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
- 3+ years of distribution design experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of electric power distribution systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor, MATLAB, or similar design software is a plus.
- ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred.
- Design Quality Control (QC) experience is a plus.
- Valid drivers license.
- Strong interest in the power and utilities industry.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Orlando, Florida , working alongside a collaborative team of engineers, designers, and design technicians. The environment provides strong exposure to complex distribution projects and opportunities to continue building your technical skill set.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
