Learning, Culture and Capability Support Officer

Basis: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract, Full time 36 hours per week

Salary: £29,224 to £30,198 per annum

A £312 tax-free working from home allowance is also payable annually.

Location: Cardiff, Edinburgh (Hybrid – min. 2 days in office), or Remote UK

About the role

This role provides essential administrative and operational support to the Learning, Culture and Capability team, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of learning and organisational development activity across the Commission.

Working across a broad range of activities, you will coordinate learning programmes, manage systems and processes, respond to enquiries and support the delivery of key people initiatives. The role plays an important part in helping colleagues access the tools, resources and development opportunities they need to perform at their best and contribute to a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the team inbox and responding to enquiries

• Coordinating learning and organisational development activities

• Maintaining learning systems and records

• Producing reports and management information

• Raising purchase orders and processing invoices

• Supporting the delivery of wider people, culture and capability initiatives

• Providing effective administrative support across the team

About the team

The Learning, Culture and Capability team is one of four specialist areas within the wider People and Culture function. The team is responsible for ensuring colleagues have the skills, knowledge and development opportunities they need to succeed in their roles while helping to create an inclusive, engaging and high-performing workplace.

We take an open, approachable and solutions-focused approach to our work, using evidence and insight to shape our activities and support organisational priorities. Working closely with colleagues across the Commission, the team plays an important role in developing capability, supporting cultural initiatives and helping prepare the organisation for future challenges.

You will bring:

We are seeking an organised and proactive administrator who can manage a varied workload and provide excellent support to both colleagues and stakeholders.

You will be able to build positive working relationships, communicate effectively with people at all levels and take ownership of your responsibilities. You will also be comfortable working with systems, data and processes while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will ideally have:

• Experience providing administrative support in a busy environment

• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience working with systems and producing reports

• Good attention to detail and accuracy

• The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

• A collaborative approach and commitment to providing excellent customer service
