Associate Project Manager - Operations

About the role

As the Associate Project Manager – Operations, you will support the day-to-day execution of CREW’s field deployments with wastewater utility partners. You will be responsible for managing product dosing and logistics, data collection, and partner communications to ensure projects run smoothly and meet their targets. You will interface with vendors and manufacturers to ensure on-time procurement and that our systems are meeting our specifications.

You will play a key role in ensuring our dosing and sampling operations deliver process intensification results and greenhouse gas removal. You will be responsible for enabling CREW’s operations team, coordinating cross-functionally across the organization, and acting as the first point of contact for any system troubleshooting or issues by our partners in the field, as well as collecting their feedback and improvement suggestions.

Responsibilities

- Support operations at partner wastewater utilities, including scheduling, tracking, and ensuring goals are met.
- Manage material inputs ordering, inventory, and delivery logistics.
- Interface with and manage vendors and manufacturers.
- Coordinate sample collection, data tracking, and reporting to partners and internal teams.
- Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting operational issues with partners.
- Develop and implement reporting tools to improve operational transparency and performance tracking.
- Quarterback partner meetings, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Manage cross-functional workflows between engineering, science, verification, and leadership teams to align on deployment needs.
- Produce and update relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation to support our operations at deployed sites
- Own system maintenance tracking and reporting
- Continuously improve operational processes and documentation for scale-up.

Experience Requirements

- 4+ years of experience in project management, operations, utilities, field deployments, or a related area.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Operations Management.
- Outstanding communication skills, both internal and external facing.
- Demonstrated ability to drive customer success and satisfaction in operational deployments.
- Strong organizational skills with a track record of managing multiple priorities in parallel.
- Experience with data tracking, reporting, and basic operational tools (Excel/Sheets, project management software, etc.).
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment where priorities can shift on a monthly basis.

Bonus Qualifications

- Certifications in Project Management (PMP, CAPM, or similar).
- Experience in the wastewater industry
