## Project Overview:
Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities. The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.
This role is offered on a 2:1 roster. FIFO and Local applicants encouraged to apply.
## Job Summary:
Provides leadership and technical expertise to the commissioning process. Includes leading a small team of EPCM engineers and sub-contractor electrical, instrument and control supervision and craft in the execution of the commissioning works for the Eva Copper Mine project. Includes the establishment of procedures and plans, population of the smart completions database, supervising and approving commissioning testing, providing input into commissioning schedules, plans, SIMOPS with construction activities and safe execution of commissioning field activities.
## Major Responsibilities:
- Establish electrical, instrument and control commissioning procedures for all three (3) stages of commissioning.
- Construction supervision for the transportable switchrooms, and co-ordinating all integrated FATs with suppliers and the main automation contractor
- Actively participate in the construction verification and related walkdown and punchlisting activities for commissioning systems.
- Review the electrical, instrument and control commissioning activities and confirm conformance with corporate and client requirements.
- Mentor electrical, instrument and control commissioning engineers, Vendors and craft in the safe execution of commissioning activities.
- Establish an effective relationship with the Mechanical commissioning functions to optimise the execution of the overall commissioning effort.
- Actively utilise the Smart Completion application to plan, execute, monitor and reporting electrical, instrument and control commissioning activities.
- Co-ordinate supplier and OEM site visits
- Complete electrical, instrument and control commissioning progress reporting in line with project requirements.
## Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
## Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to execute the technical aspects of various electrical, instrument and control commissioning activities.
- Demonstrated computer skills, particularly in MS Office and completion systems.
- Strong knowledge of construction principles and familiarity with jobsite practices and procedures, including safety, workplace planning, housekeeping and technical record completion.
