About the role
As a Traffic Controller, you'll be responsible for the safe setup, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic management systems. You'll help manage traffic flow around worksites, ensuring the safety of road users, pedestrians, and your team. The role is hands-on and includes traffic control duties, site setup and pack-down, labouring tasks, and supporting day-to-day site operations.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic management equipment
- Manage Stop/Go operations and traffic flow around worksites
- Assist with site setup, pack-down, and general labouring duties
- Complete required traffic management documentation and checks
- Monitor site safety and identify potential hazards
- Support team members to deliver projects safely and efficiently
- Participate in emergency callouts when required
- Provide excellent service to clients, road users, and the community
About you
You will be safety-focused, reliable, and enjoy working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in traffic management, road maintenance, or civil construction is desirable, but we also welcome candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Ideally, you'll have:
- A current Class 1 NZ Driver Licence
- Traffic Management qualification (preferred)
- Class 2 licence advantageous
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
