Role

Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) focus for Body/Chassis subsystems.
Perform Vehicle Integration checks.- Integration Inspection , Braking , handling , NVH, WPC, Understand targets relative to competition / base models and ensure (SOR) capturing & implementing these targets, cracks or structural damage, Inspect suspension for leaks, pitting etc
Develop vehicle evaluation expertise (by self-riding), Understanding of Vehicle related issues- NVH & and verify value is within limits (at par/better than competition) during M1/PP1 Ride events using objective data.
Involvement in new model design issues resolution and the need for deeper data analysis on warranty failures, market surveys & resolution.
Verification of Lesson learnt / Past failures / DFMEA's / PTS tracking monitoring - Closure of all issues at key milestones.

Drive proactive design validation: Identify and mitigate risks early in the development phase. Foster cross-functional collaboration: Strengthen alignment between design, manufacturing, and quality teams. Ensure product robustness by performing vehicle Integration checks that consistently exceed performance and quality benchmarks. Enable data-driven decisions: Utilize objective data and past failure analysis for rigorous issue resolution thru DFM/ DFA & DFS

A Day in the life

1. DFMEA discussion on New Technological Parts/ Past Failure data / experience and sharing FM’s for Proprietary parts.
2. Liaise closely with design teams for driving product robustness – influence positive changes (within CIT, within Quality, within overall CFT )
3. Study design parameters and predict potential concerns from market for evaluation – need for robustness
4. Alignment of internal & external stakeholders for:
a) Design trials, Events, Feasibility studies, Simulation, Base Model issue resolution
b) Liaise jointly with teams during development/ PP1 testing
c) Assembly Trials, DFMEA & Common part issue resolution
d) Base Model issue resolution, Market Issue resolution, Warranty analysis
e) Proposals/ discussion/ costing
f) Part and process development, QAVs / Parts Trials
Discussion / verification / proposals / trials

Academic Qualification & Experience

B.Tech Mechanical with Minimum 8 years of experience in part development in automobile industry with good Technical / Hands-on experience on vehicle level testing w.r.t Failure diagnosis
