We are a team of Information Technology professionals at Seagate responsible for creating and implementing data-driven solutions that support business decisions and factory operations. We combine reporting, analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI to enable real-time insights, intelligent automation, predictive decision support, and optimized production processes. Working closely with business, data engineering, and analytics teams, we apply Industry 4.0 capabilities including real-time control, IoT, Big Data and Analytics, automation, and AI to advance smart factory initiatives and operational excellence.
About the role - you will:
- Develop and maintain business reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations using modern business intelligence tools.
- Use Generative AI to accelerate data exploration, SQL development, report documentation, insight summarization, and stakeholder communication, with appropriate validation and human review.
- Build natural-language analytics experiences that help users ask questions, discover insights, and navigate trusted business data.
- Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to gather, clean, prepare, and model structured and unstructured data for reporting and GenAI use cases.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable business insights.
- Present analytical findings through clear visual storytelling, AI-assisted narratives, and concise recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.
- Follow responsible AI, data privacy, information security, version control, testing, and documentation practices.
About you:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
- Passionate about data, reporting, visualization, Generative AI, and using technology to solve business or manufacturing problems.
- Curious, adaptable, and willing to experiment with new analytical and AI technologies while validating results carefully.
- Comfortable translating business questions into data requirements, analyses, visualizations, and clear explanations.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy, consistency, and responsible use.
- A collaborative communicator who can work with cross-functional and global teams.
- Interested in building AI-assisted analytics products, not only static reports and dashboards.
Your experience includes:
- Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data extraction, joins, aggregation, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with a business intelligence or visualization tool such as Power BI or Tableau through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or prior internships.
- Understanding of data visualization principles, dashboard usability, and analytical storytelling.
- Experience working with datasets to identify trends, derive insights, and communicate findings.
- Basic programming or data analysis experience in Python, R, or a similar language.
- Exposure to Generative AI concepts including Large Language Models, prompt engineering, structured outputs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, AI agents, tool calling, and model evaluation.
- Experience using GenAI tools or APIs to support analytics, reporting, knowledge discovery, or workflow automation.
