Junior-Senior AS/400 Back-End Software Engineer

We are looking for AS/400 Back-End Software Engineers across Junior, Mid, and Senior levels to develop and maintain core business applications running on the IBM i (AS/400) platform .

The role focuses on enterprise systems, batch processing, integrations, data management, and modernization using technologies including COBOL, RPG, CL, and Db2 for i .

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain applications on IBM i / AS/400
- Develop and enhance programs using COBOL, RPG, and CL
- Build interfaces and integrations with internal and external systems
- Develop database components using Db2 for AS/400
- Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks
- Support batch operations, deployments, and production releases
- Participate in application modernization initiatives
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and engineering teams
- Maintain technical and operational documentation

Requirements

- Professional IBM i / AS/400 development experience appropriate to the seniority level
- Experience with COBOL
- Experience with RPG III / RPG IV / ILE RPG / Free-Format RPG
- Knowledge of CL (Control Language)
- Experience with Db2 for AS/400 and Embedded SQL
- Knowledge of DDS
- Experience with IBM Rational Developer or equivalent tools
- Understanding of batch processing and job scheduling
- Experience with AI-assisted software development and Specification-Driven Development practices
- Proficiency in Greek and English

Seniority levels: Junior: 1+ years | Mid: 3+ years | Senior: 5+ years. Senior profiles should bring strong IBM i architecture, optimization, integration, modernization, and technical leadership experience.
