Working within the project team, this role reports directly to the Project Manager on all matters relating to the administration, coordination and engineer support of the contract. You will have the opportunity to learn from the project team in all aspects of operational delivery. The Trainee Engineer is involved with coordination and engineering to support the successful delivery of services to our customer.

Main Responsibilities

Support the Project Coordinator in their role including;

- Manage both Company & Client rota and flight booking system.

- Input holiday requests into holiday tracker and sign off for payment

- Raise requisitions for recruitment up-manning and holiday cover

- Ensure all personnel to mobilise have completed relevant pre-mob training

- Assist with appraisal progress as per annual appraisal plan

- Coordinate annual shutdown ramp up / ramp down and ensure all standby payments are captured

- Review timesheets and ensure accuracy and compliance of time recording.

- Help maintain project timesheets on time writing system.

- Write & check or approve training, expenses and wages payments as required.

- Ensure correct job numbers and purchase order numbers are on timesheets to enable them to be invoiced correctly

- Ensure weekly deliverables are sent in from offshore and logged/saved

- Maintain Live Training matrix with Project Coordinator for all regular personnel and arrange necessary training.

- Provide dedicated support to the Coordinator when they are on leave.

Support the Project Engineers in their roles, with a focus on the campaign, including;

- Gain a good working knowledge of core disciplines i.e. scaffolding, painting, insulation, PFP and deck operations

- Appreciation of specialist disciplines i.e. LSA cleaning, Renewables, rope access and rigging

- Liaise with discipline engineers to gain knowledge of future projects

- Support Engineers with tasks, including but not limited to, P&E orders and management, CTR’s, work pack creation.

- Provide dedicated support to engineers when other engineers are on leave.

- Gain an appreciation and knowledge of company process/procedures and the importance of HSEQ and who that is applied to our operational delivery.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed to support the Project Coordinator & Project Engineers, the position holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager from time to time

Experience & Qualifications

- Previous experience in an office-based role

- Experience using Solab - Onboard Tracker tool (desirable)

- Experience using -MPower time writing (desirable)

- Assertive and confident

- Familiar with agile working, continuously looking for improvements that can be made

- Good communication and organisational skills, excellent team player

- Happy to work on own initiative, manage time effectively and prioritise workload

- Computer Literate – all MS Office Software
