What awaits you in this role?

We are looking for a passionate Toolroom Supervisor to join our Production/Toolroom team.

- Supervision of artisan daily activities

- Assign tool breakdowns and repairs

- Ensure tool repairs are completed efficiently

- Supervision of new parts being manufactured in department

- Programming of CNC machines and tool design for new tools and modifications

- Provide close out dates for problematic tooling

- Manage Artisan performance according to department and project timelines

- Ensure job card management completion by Artisans

- Coordinate Masakhane meetings with toolroom staff.

- Manage stores and ensure stock levels are correct.

- Liase with process departments to assist with their tooling demands

- Manage preventative maintenance and general upkeep of tooling

- Track all items flowing through toolroom and report weekly on progress to toolroom management

- Ensure machinery in department is always working to the correct standard

This position is in Durban, South Africa.

How do we describe a perfect match?

- Gr.12 with mathematics

- Trade test qualification in Toolmaking (Trade tested)

- Minimum 15 years’ experience in toolmaking post apprenticeship

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC programmer (preferably using EdgeCAM)

- Minimum 5 years’ experience designing using CAD software (Inventor, Fusion 360 or NX)

- Experience in managing staff and controlling the daily activities of the toolroom

- Good organization skills to manage and track machine and machinist efficiencies

- Strong toolmaking problem solving

- Solid Project management skills

- Strong Leadership skills

- Good communication skills

- Strong decision-making skills

- Ability to work unsupervised

- Ability to work under pressure
