Your career opportunity
Payments Services IT builds and supports the technology that powers HSBC’s payments processing and customer journeys. As a Full Stack Engineer, you’ll help design, build and run cloud-native APIs and microservices, working closely with architects, analysts, delivery leads and quality assurance to deliver secure, reliable outcomes at pace.
What you’ll do
- Create and maintain API and microservice designs and documentation
- Deliver high-quality code that supports end-to-end customer journeys
- Embrace new technologies and champion their adoption within the team
- Review and sign off user stories and low-level designs in line with architecture principles
- Perform code reviews, ensuring engineering standards are followed consistently
- Partner with the IT Project Manager to build and deliver to an agreed project plan
- Remove delivery blockers and keep stakeholders informed on progress and risks
- Work with Scrum Leads and Test Quality Assurance to ensure pipeline needs and quality gates are met
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka and Istio Service Mesh
- Strong capability with traditional engineering tools and platforms such as Bash or Shell, Groovy or Java, Unix or Linux, Jenkins and GitHub
- Proven experience designing, building and maintaining distributed containerised platforms
- Experience delivering continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for automated deployments
- Strong documentation skills for technical designs, production support walkthroughs and release checklists
- Solid understanding of engineering standards, code quality practices and peer review approaches
- Ability to collaborate effectively across roles including Technical Architects, Operations Business Analysts, Scrum Leads and Test Quality Assurance
- Clear communication skills to manage progress updates, escalate risks, and drive delivery to plan
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 17,484 PLN - 26,225 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
