About this role
Purpose
To ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial recording and reporting of transactions across key accounting processes, including fixed asset accounting, pricing management, accruals and provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations, in line with IFRS accounting standards and Group accounting policies. The role focuses on maintaining strong financial controls within the ERP system, supporting timely capitalization of capital expenditure projects, ensuring accurate pricing updates in the ERP, and delivering reliable financial information for management review while safeguarding the company’s assets and improving operational efficiency.
Position Accountabilities
Capital Expenditure
- Ensure that all capital expenditures are properly authorized (as per approved capex budget), recorded (as per applicable IFRS) and reconciled in the company’s ERP.
- Ensure that the monthly capex report is submitted to the Central Investment team and local Management team as per group deadline. Any deviation from approved budget should be immediately investigated and explained.
- Ensure that the company’s Fixed Asset Register (FAR) is kept up to date and is reconciled to the General Ledger on a monthly basis. Proper control, follow-up and inspections should be done on a regular basis to ensure that all assets capitalized / movements / disposals are recorded in the company’s ERP on a timely basis.
- Co-ordinate and ensure that a general asset verification exercise is carried out and completed as per the Group policy. The outcome of this verification exercise should be communicated to the local management team, and corrective actions should be taken in the company’s ERP as required so as to ensure that the FAR is up to date.
- Ensure that Work In Progress (WIP) is accounted in the company’s ERP as per the Group’s policy / guidelines and applicable IFRS. Completed WIP should be capitalized and closed on a timely basis by closely following up with the responsible business manager and engineer.
- Ensure that all ad hoc reports relating to capital expenditures are provided as and when required (For e.g. quarterly investment figures to be submitted to the Economic Development Board, data required in respect of PIR exercises, Depreciation simulation required by the MI Planner for the Plan etc.)
- Ensure that depreciation run is reviewed before being posted in the company’s ERP as per reporting deadlines. Depreciation run must be checked in terms of correctness and accuracy and should be aligned with the group depreciation policy.
Pricing
- Ensure that all selling prices / discounts and rebates are updated in the company’s ERP on a timely basis. All price changes should be done in line with the company’s Manual of Authorities and proper control should be implemented to avoid errors and billing issues which could have a negative impact on the company’s financial performance.
- Ensure that the price list in the company’s ERP is reviewed on a monthly basis and that all discounts/ special prices / rebates are duly reviewed / approved and signed off by the responsible Business Manager for renewal before they expire. There should be no open pricing (pricing without an expiry date) in the company’s ERP unless it has been duly approved by the Finance Manager and responsible Business Manager.
- Provide support to the business on all pricing-related issues and work closely with the Customer Service Centre Manager to ensure that all price changes have been checked and confirmed.
GL Accounting and Reporting
- Ensure that all provisions / payroll journals / accruals are posted in the company’s ERP as per the group’s reporting deadline. It is important to ensure that the correct GL account/cost Centre/profit centre/movement type is used when booking such ‘manual’ entries so as to reflect the correct nature of the recorded transactions and that they are in line with IFRS.
- Ensure that proper documentation is maintained for all journal entries booked in the company’s ERP for audit purposes.
- Ensure that the automatic journal generated for the payroll run is properly recorded in the Company’s ERP on a monthly basis.
- Analyze the ‘own use’ accounts and ensure that all transactions recorded in these accounts have been transferred to the correct GL accounts (Capex or Opex) on a monthly basis.
- Perform a detailed variance analysis on operating expenses on a monthly basis (before the GL is closed) and to process any corrective journal entries as and when required. This detailed variance analysis report should be shared with the MI Planner and signed off by the Finance Controller and Finance Manager before the GL is closed.
- Ensure that all intercompany recharge/invoicing is done on a timely basis and as per group policy. This should be reconciled with the corresponding counter parties.
Subsidiary / Joint Venture / Associate Accounting and Reporting
- Ensure that all subsidiaries / associates / joint ventures GL are closed as per group reporting deadline and that monthly management accounts (P&L / B/Sheet and Cash Flow) are submitted to the Finance Controller and Finance Manager for review and approval.
- Monitor all month end tasks / activities relating to the subsidiaries / associates / joint ventures and ensure that reporting is completed as per group reporting deadlines
- Provide all required information / schedules / reports to the external auditors and ensure that all their queries are replied to on a timely basis for the smooth completion of the audit.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are correctly reconciled, matched and cleared up in the company’s ERP. All amounts sitting in those accounts should be justified, explained and reconciled on a monthly basis. Ensure that corrective actions / follow-ups on unusual / long outstanding balances are taken on a timely basis.
- Assist the Finance Controller as and when required during Group deep dives reviews for Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure that monthly Goal Zero Control reports (GZC) are submitted to the Internal Control Team on a timely basis (in the correct format and with all the required supporting documents).
- Perform monthly LPG Deposit reconciliation by SKUs and confirm same with the LPG Manager and Finance Controller for cylinder deposit write back calculations.
Expenses though Corporate Credit Card (Accounting and Reconciliation)
- Ensure that all expenses made though the company’s corporate credit cards are properly accounted for in the company’s ERP on a monthly basis and is reconciled with the individual credit card statements of each credit card user.
- Ensure that all expenses done through the company’s corporate credit card have been duly approved by the responsible line manager before being posted in the company’s ERP.
- Records Management
- Manage the archiving of all General Ledger documents and conduct yearly archiving exercise to ensure that all GL documents are properly archived.
- Ensure that the record management policy for all GL documents is in line with the Group’s record management policy and local statutory requirements, especially in terms of retention period.
Others
- Any ad-hoc task assigned by your Line Manager.

Requirements
Qualifications, Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Graduate in the field of Finance or Accounting or related.
- ACCA qualification or an equivalent certification will be considered an asset.
- At least 3 years experience.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills required.
