Director, Microreactor Defense Programs

About the role:

As a Director, Microreactor Defense Programs you will You will lead a team of project managers and program managers responsible for successful execution of the U.S. Department of War terrestrial defense projects. You will guide excellence in project execution across safety, delivery, quality, cost, schedule, and risk while providing strategic direction, governance, and operational support in a complex, multi-project environment. You will report to the Senior Director, Space & National Security Programs, Westinghouse Government Services and work at our Cranberry Township, PA site. Hybrid Work Schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

- Portfolio & Project Leadership

Lead the execution of the DOW terrestrial defense programs for the U.S. Army and Department of the Air Force, which are large-scale, complex, multi-year, multi-phase delivery projects.

- Work with our business and functional leadership to ensure that needed expertise and numbers of resources are available to support the project in execution of scope within the agreed schedule.

- Lead project teams of up to 50+ full-time employees to complete the Janus and ANPI programs with the DOW project activities for the existing contracts with guidance of other teams.

- Be the contact with the USG in completing projects, ensure agreement on contract terms, scope, execution strategy for integrated activities in our organization.

- Work with our commercial teams to develop offers and contracts that we can complete both to deliver the desired project and implement commercially.

- Manage overall work performance for the project, including scope, cost, schedule and risk compliance with contractual obligations.

- Lead development of the project supply chain and ensuring suppliers achieve quality and contractual requirements.

People Leadership & Development

- Lead a team of project managers, program managers, project control, and technical leader professionals.

- Support capability development and succession planning and promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and professional growth.

- Foster a culture that recognizes achievements, encourages collaboration, and addresses performance gaps.

Strategic Contribution

- Identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and support business growth and long-term operational and portfolio strategies.

- Support resource planning and optimization across our group to ensure efficient delivery of products and services.

- Participate in cost estimation, project setup activities, and strategic planning for new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Engineering, Business, Project Management, Construction Management degree preferred.

- 15+ years of experience in program management within engineering, construction, manufacturing, energy, or nuclear environments.

- Experience leading large, diverse, and matrixed organizations.

- Familiarity with USG contracting, FAR and DFAR flowdowns.

- Experience with program management methodologies, contract and commercial practices, change management and operational transformation.

- Fluent English required.

- Experience working directly on USG related projects - DOD and DOE preferred.

- Knowledge of the nuclear industry and regulatory environment preferred.

- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certifications preferred.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $162,000 to $202,500 per year . In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
