We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of VP, Stress Testing, GT

Purpose of role:

- To manage the end-to-end execution of regulatory, internal & climate stress tests across Group and specified regions. Take accountability and manage specialized functions such as Scenario Expansion, Credit Risk, Climate Risk, Scenario Analysis, Data systems & consolidation, Regulatory & Internal reporting, Management actions, Data Plausibility, Controls & Governance, Delivery & Program management. Manage the program across countries within a geographic region to achieve consistency in execution while catering to the local nuances of portfolio dynamics and regulatory requirements.

Principal responsibilities :

- Lead a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team, consisting of finance, data, analytics and technology professionals to deliver financial analysis or analytical solutions to support regulatory reporting and stress testing focusing on following specialized functional areas
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Retail / WS Credit Risk execution processes for various Group and Regional capital & climate stress tests
- Drive the T-zero data preparation in coordination with group and regional teams and ensure the data quality.
- Responsible for executing credit risk models by products, sectors, and specific focus on transition and physical risk for climate-based stress tests
- Lead the production of consolidated stress-testing results (ECL, LICs, RWA, P&L) and associated management information, providing a concise summary on the approach and outcomes of analysis, including key assumptions and limitations.
- Work directly with various stakeholders across multiple geographies, such as CFOs/CROs, Business heads, other senior stakeholders to manage timely delivery of projects, reports and analysis. Should lead the transition from analysis to successful delivery.
- To provide thought leadership and creating opportunities for the team to work smarter, as well as adopt new tools and techniques to meet the ever-changing requirements from CFOs, Business heads, regulators or senior stakeholders across the Group.
- Develop strong teams by on-boarding, training, developing talent and proactively retain high performing team members. Develop specialist analytical skills within the team to enable the delivery of insightful business analysis.
- Ensure risks and issues are identified, managed closely, and remove project blockers from the team. Drive continuous improvement and simplification to improve operational efficiency and focus on data insights.

To be successful you will:

- A degree in CA, MBA with bachelor’s in engineering / Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other numerical discipline, equivalent with relevant work experience.
- 10-12+ years of proven experience, preferably in financial services or consulting firm. Relevant experience in fields like Credit Risk & Basel, Loss Forecasting / Reserving, IFRS9, Stress testing, business performance analysis, pricing analytics, product strategy development, Risk and Controls Management
- Hands-on experience of developing and deploying analytical and/or financial/statistical/ML modelling solutions
- Excellent quantitative aptitude and proficiency in tools such as SAS/ SQL, R, Python, Qlik Sense etc.
- Understanding of data architecture, finance and accounting systems – ability to work with large, complex datasets.
- Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial services/ banking-operations preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, identify scope of improvement and provide efficient data driven solution

Take timely action on Audit comments and drive compliance with Internal controls within the team. Support the development and maintenance of the documentation workstream, embedding HSBC principles to produce high quality basis of preparation, process maps and controls

- Good technical background working with large-scale data in distributed computing environments, including databases, data cleaning, and feature engineering
- Proven ability to produce clear summaries and reports from complex information, including both written documentation and graphical material
