Lead Software Engineer - Go / Kubernetes / Python - Public Cloud Engineering

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase in Public Cloud Engineering, you will enhance, build, and deliver trusted technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will set architectural direction, guide system-level design, and drive engineering excellence across identity services and platform infrastructure. You will work within an agile team and collaborate closely with partners and stakeholders to deliver coherent, scalable solutions. Job Responsibilities

- Lead the design and implementation of platform services and infrastructure with emphasis on architecture, integration patterns, and system reliability
- Develop, review, debug, and maintain secure, high-quality production code, applying engineering judgment to meet standards regardless of code origin
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability across applications and systems
- Lead design reviews and architecture discussions to evaluate solutions, strengthen technical quality, and support scalable delivery
- Partner with platform architecture, trust and authorization teams, and downstream Identity and Access Management consumers to align designs across teams
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to increase awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies
- Mentor and coach engineers through hands-on technical guidance

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and applied experience
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience with Identity and Access Management platforms, role-based access control, or entitlement governance at scale
- Proficiency in one or more languages, frameworks, or platforms such as Java, Spring, Go, Python, Terraform, or Kubernetes
- Cloud-native experience building and operating services on at least one public cloud provider such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Understanding of agile practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, application resiliency, and security
- Ability to evaluate technical solutions with a customer-focused mindset and connect engineering decisions to user and business outcomes
- Communication skills with the ability to adapt messages for technical and non-technical audiences
- Responsible use of approved artificial intelligence tooling, applying critical judgment to validate quality, correctness, security, and performance

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

- Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated technology environment with audit and control requirements
- Experience contributing to public cloud platform services, developer platforms, or shared engineering capabilities
- Familiarity with responsible artificial intelligence use in engineering workflows, including secure handling of inputs and outputs
- Experience improving developer experience, platform reliability, or operational efficiency at scale

We are expanding our Public Cloud Engineering organization into the EMEA region by establishing a new Identity and Access Management team to better serve our customers and strengthen collaboration across our global engineering teams. The team will own critical identity domains that support our platform across public cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
