Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

River Run Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment — running rooms, managing anesthesia, supporting surgical caseloads, and communicating with clients at a high clinical level. Responsibilities include:

- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows

- Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery

- Assisting in surgery

- Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography

- Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation

- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately

- Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital

- Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule and compensation:

- Compensation: $20 - 28 per hour, for each hour worked

- Schedule: This is a flexible position open to someone full-time or part-time , with a full time typically offering a 4 x 10 schedule, Monday–Friday, with one Saturday per month (7:30 AM – 12:30 PM). No on-call requirements.

Full-time Benefits Package*:

- Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of NC

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

- 2+ years of veterinary technician experience

- Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of North Carolina **

- Proficiency in the following skills:

Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring

- Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery

- Surgical assistance and aseptic technique

- Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography

- Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement

- Radiology positioning and safety protocols

- Medication administration and accurate drug calculations

- Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques

- Client education and communication

- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail

- Effective teamwork and professional communication skills

- Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
