Estimator

Job Description The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial work. This role involves reviewing project plans, specifications, and proposals to determine the scope of work, materials, labor, and equipment needed. The Electrical Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients to ensure estimates are complete, cost-effective, and aligned with company standards. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of electrical systems, codes, and industry best practices. Responsibilities

- Collect data to estimate costs for current and future projects.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, project managers, foremen, and general contractors to discuss and formulate estimates and issues found in the bidding process.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, costs, materials, and labor estimates.
- Confer with project managers on all change orders, ASIs, bulletins, etc., for pricing on all ongoing projects.
- Confer with project managers on small project pricing.
- Track all projects bid and prepare weekly reports for management.
- Attend pre-bid meetings as needed.
- Perform takeoffs.
- Send out RFQs to suppliers.
- Input takeoff into estimating programs.
- Review quotes from suppliers.
- Input quotes into estimating programs.
- Update all pricing as needed in the estimating program.
- Finalize bids and prepare paperwork for review with management.
- Type proposals and send them out to general contractors.
- Follow up with bids.
- Job setup.
- Prepare AIA schedule of values.
- Assist with award of packages.
- Assist with material purchases.
- Conduct project turnover meetings.
- Price change orders.
- Price ASIs and/or bulletins.
- Conduct post-construction meetings.

Essential Skills

- Associates degree in electrical engineering or 2 years equivalent experience is a plus
- 2 3 years in construction estimating
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Electrical estimating experience is a plus

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. -ESOP Company; get stock after 1 year with firm.

You are eligible to contribute to your 401K day one, however, after a year of service, the company match kicks in.
-40hr PTO after 90 days (negotiable)
