About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Tank Washer / Production Support Operator to support our aerospace coatings manufacturing operation in Waukegan.
This is a hands-on manufacturing support role primarily responsible for cleaning and preparing production tanks, vessels, containers, and equipment for use in the manufacturing process . The position plays an important role in keeping production running safely and efficiently by ensuring equipment is properly cleaned, organized, and ready for the next production batch.
This role is ideal for someone comfortable with physical work in an industrial manufacturing environment who takes pride in safety, cleanliness, and supporting the production team.

Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare production tanks, mixing vessels, containers, and related equipment according to established procedures.
- Perform tank and equipment washing between production batches to prevent contamination and ensure equipment is ready for reuse.
- Follow established cleaning procedures, including the safe handling and use of approved cleaning materials and solvents.
- Inspect tanks and equipment after cleaning to ensure they meet established cleanliness and production requirements.
- Move, stage, and organize tanks, drums, containers, and other production materials.
- Support Batchmaking and other production operations by ensuring clean equipment and materials are available when needed.
- Assist with material movement and general production activities as assigned.
- Properly handle and dispose of cleaning materials and waste according to site procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized tank-washing, production, and storage areas.
- Follow all procedures related to chemical handling, personal protective equipment (PPE), and respiratory protection.
- Participate in Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental activities, training, housekeeping, and 5S.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, spills, or other potential hazards.
- Perform other production-support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing, industrial cleaning, production, warehouse, or similar experience preferred.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean production equipment.
- Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and chemicals.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
- Willingness to learn additional production skills and responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to push, pull, move, and position drums, tanks, and production equipment using appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive physical activities associated with industrial equipment cleaning.
- Ability to wear required PPE and respiratory protection.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where exposure to chemicals, odors, noise, and varying temperatures may occur.
