About this role
Role description · Glen Dimplex International
Head of Marketing, International
The opportunity
Glen Dimplex is a privately owned, family-founded group and a recognized European leader in intelligent electric heating. Its international organization brings the group's electric heating business together under one commercial structure across Europe.
The Head of Marketing, International leads brand strategy and channel positioning for this business. It is a foundational, strategic appointment: the person defines a clear, coherent role for the brand portfolio across markets and builds the marketing agenda for the international business. The role is deliberately designed to grow, with the scope to take on broader marketing and budget responsibility over time as the business develops.
Scope
The role owns brand strategy, positioning and market prioritization across the international portfolio. In the initial phase the emphasis is on brand strategy, positioning, product marketing and coordination rather than day-to-day campaign delivery or central budget ownership.
The role carries responsibility for Glen Dimplex's international markets, the geographies served outside the group's domestic operations: DACH, Benelux, Poland, Central & Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and Rest of World. Business-level English is a key requirement for the role.
Key responsibilities
Brand strategy & architecture
- Define
and own the brand strategy and architecture across the international portfolio — the role of each brand by market and by channel, and how the brands relate to one another.
- With more than five brands currently active across the markets, take a critical and strategic view of brand positioning so that each brand plays a clear role and can perform within its relevant channel activities.
- Own brand governance and consistency, protecting equity and identity across markets and touchpoints.
Product marketing & value propositions
- Develop compelling value propositions, messaging and positioning by segment and channel, acting as the bridge between the product portfolio and the market.
- Turn product features and technical strengths into clear customer and consumer benefits that support commercial conversion.
- Own the core international collateral and product content, produced with the support of the divisional marketing teams.
Go-to-market & launch
- Own the go-to-market and launch approach for new products, working closely with Product Management and Sales.
- Ensure launch readiness — proposition, messaging, assets and channel activation aligned and in place ahead of introduction.
- Support an insight-led NPI agenda by feeding market and customer insight into product decisions.
Market insight & prioritisation
- Own market and competitive intelligence, customer segmentation and personae as the foundation for prioritisation and proposition development.
- Lead market prioritisation, focusing effort and investment where the opportunity is greatest.
Channel & trade marketing
- Support the wholesale, distributor and installer channels with sales enablement, point-of-sale, merchandising and technical marketing material.
- Maintain a close, complementary relationship with the eCommerce and D2C agenda — kept deliberately abstract at this stage, as it follows a different market approach — so that brand and online strategies reinforce rather than compete.
Cross-divisional coordination
Provide a coordinating role across the divisions, aligning local market requirements with the marketing teams in the operating businesses and keeping brand and go-to-market activity consistent. The precise coordination model is still being defined and will be shaped with the successful candidate.
Leadership & interfaces
Reports to the Managing Director, International. Works as a peer and partner to the Sales, Product and eCommerce leads for the international business, and closely with the divisional marketing teams and wider leadership. Operates effectively in a matrix, delivering through divisional teams rather than a fully centralised function, with a designed path towards broader marketing and budget ownership over time.
How success is measured
- A clear, consistent brand architecture and a shared view of the role of each brand per market.
- Strong value propositions and go-to-market execution that support new-product success and commercial conversion.
- Effective market prioritisation and a marketing agenda ready to scale into broader responsibility over time.
Candidate profile
- A brand and marketing strategist in heating and cooling, HVAC, consumer durables or an adjacent sector, with proven brand positioning across multiple markets.
- A proven, critical and strategic view of a multi-brand portfolio, with the ability to define brand architecture and position several brands effectively across different channel activities.
- Strong product-marketing capability: developing value propositions, messaging and go-to-market and launch plans for new products.
- Able to operate strategically and in a coordinating capacity today, with the calibre and ambition to grow into broader marketing and budget ownership over time.
- Genuine affinity with eCommerce, D2C and marketplace dynamics — able to engage credibly so that brand and online strategies stay complementary.
- Comfortable in a matrix, working through divisional marketing teams rather than a fully owned central team.
- Business-level English essential; further European languages welcome.
- Location, working model & package
- Location is open within Europe, to be confirmed with the successful candidate. The role involves regular coordination with the divisional teams and key markets.
