Job Title: Automation Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a related field or equivalent past work experience. This role requires demonstrated technical expertise in maintenance functions and a strong customer focus. Basic PC skills, particularly with MS Windows, are essential, along with ongoing technical training each year. Basic project management skills are also required.
Responsibilities
- Understand the hazards and work on electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve issues of basic complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems including PLC, Drives, Servo, HMI, and CNC.
- Work towards a Class A Journeyman license if in the electrical program.
- Perform maintenance functions with technical expertise.
- Engage in hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Occasionally lift/carry objects up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving squatting, crawling, reaching, kneeling, and balancing.
- Handle hazardous waste while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Work near energized electric circuits and hot equipment/materials.
- Operate in high work areas from ladders and platforms.

Work Environment
This role is situated in a heavy manufacturing environment where you will be part of a transformative project impacting multiple departments including manufacturing, quality, design, and IT. The team values collaboration, hands-on problem solving, and continuous improvement. The work involves physical activities such as lifting heavy components and requires working outside, handling hazardous materials, and adhering to safety protocols including wearing the proper PPE. Shifts include two positions on the first shift and two on the second shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Dubuque, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.90 - $36.13/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
