Commercial Program Manager, Data Center Non-Firm Grid Capacity

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

- 5 years of experience in program management.

- 5 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.

- Experience with energy transaction structuring, US power markets (wholesale and retail), utility tariffs, demand-side technologies, or power infrastructure project management.

Preferred qualifications:

- 8 years of experience in demand-side energy resource project development, utility procurement, or finance/consulting roles with similar responsibilities.

- Experience with power generation resources, power transmission and distribution, data center technology, electrical and cooling systems, or related technical areas.

- Experience with resource adequacy and transmission reliability modeling tools and concepts.

- Experience managing utility agreements, addressing energy-related issues, applying financial modeling and interfacing with technical engineering teams.

- Support utility contractual negotiations for non-firm grid capacity and align Google business, technical, and operational requirements.

- Drive high-fidelity first party and third party non-firm grid capacity availability modeling at Point of Interests (POIs) and coordinate with data center infrastructure planning, power availability, and engineering design teams.

- Manage overall non-firm grid capacity commercial pipeline, internal systems of record, and coordinate with demand allocation teams.

- Develop and drive approvals for non-firm grid capacity strategy with engineering stakeholders and coordinate non-firm grid capacity market advocacy positions and priorities.

- Ensure operational readiness by coordinating utility/ISO testing/registration requirements and internal power management systems.
