We are seeking a MissionWorks Solutions Executive to join our team and lead the development of mission-centered technology solutions across Unissant's customer and growth portfolio.
The ideal candidate is a senior technology and mission leader who can move fluently between customer need, technical strategy, growth, and execution. This individual will help define and lead MissionWorks as a solution-development capability: identifying high-value mission problems, asking the questions that clarify what a customer actually needs, designing an achievable path from concept to operational capability, and leading teams that build and deploy the solution.
This leader will not simply respond to opportunities. They will help create them. The MissionWorks Solutions Executive will identify emerging customer challenges, shape innovative concepts before formal procurements exist, rapidly demonstrate value through prototypes and pilots, and guide the journey from idea to funded program and operational capability.
This is not a traditional enterprise architect, delivery executive, or narrow technology-specialist role. The MissionWorks Solutions Executive must understand the interaction among data, applications, cloud infrastructure, integration, cybersecurity, operations, and artificial intelligence. They must be able to engage credibly with executives, government decision-makers, mission operators, growth teams, and engineers; make sound tradeoffs; and turn complex ideas into deployable solutions that deliver measurable value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own the MissionWorks solution vision, technical direction, delivery approach, and evolving capability roadmap.
- Identify emerging customer challenges, unmet mission needs, and market opportunities that can be shaped before a formal solicitation or funded program exists.
- Partner with customer executives, mission owners, program leaders, capture teams, and technical stakeholders to identify operational challenges, priority use cases, and opportunities for differentiated solutions.
- Lead consultative discovery sessions to clarify desired outcomes, constraints, dependencies, workflow impacts, data readiness, security requirements, adoption risks, and success measures.
- Translate mission and business challenges into solution concepts, technical approaches, phased roadmaps, prototypes, pilots, and operational delivery plans.
- Create, direct, and position rapid prototypes, demonstrations, and minimum viable solutions that test customer value, influence customer thinking, and establish a credible path to production and funded delivery.
- Shape opportunities through the full lifecycle-from early concept development and customer engagement through capture, proposal support, solutioning, pilot execution, and transition to sustained delivery.
- Design and guide solutions that may span applications, APIs, data platforms, cloud services, integration, workflow automation, cybersecurity, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to AI Solutions Engineers and future MissionWorks team members.
- Establish reusable solution patterns, technical accelerators, implementation playbooks, reference architectures, and demonstrations that can be applied across customers and programs.
- Serve as a senior technical and mission-facing representative in customer meetings, executive briefings, technical reviews, demonstrations, industry discussions, and growth activities.
- Assess technical feasibility, delivery risk, security implications, integration complexity, cost, schedule, operational readiness, acquisition constraints, and long-term sustainment needs.
- Partner with program and delivery leaders to transition successful solutions into operational environments with clear ownership, deployment, support, and enhancement plans.
- Help define MissionWorks staffing needs, team structure, delivery practices, technical investments, and strategic priorities as the capability expands.
- Build productive partnerships across Unissant's delivery, growth, technology, and operations teams to convert innovative concepts into credible, scalable offerings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Experience and Job Skills:
- Twelve or more years of progressive experience in technology leadership, solution delivery, software engineering, cloud, data, enterprise applications, digital transformation, product development, innovation, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated history of personally building technologies, products, solutions, practices, businesses, partnerships, or revenue streams from concept through measurable results.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technology solutions from an ambiguous customer need through solution design, prototype or pilot development, deployment, and operational adoption.
- Broad technical fluency across modern cloud environments, enterprise applications, integration patterns, APIs, data architecture, software delivery, automation, and AI-enabled systems.
- Experience designing, building, directing, or deploying practical AI, automation, analytics, data, or agent-based capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to identify unmet customer needs, influence customer thinking, shape opportunities before solicitations exist, and convert pilots or prototypes into funded work or sustained programs.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior executives, government decision-makers, mission owners, engineers, architects, operators, and program leaders with equal credibility.
- Strong customer discovery and consultative skills, including the ability to challenge assumptions, uncover root problems, frame options, and guide decision-making.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams in complex, regulated, or mission-critical environments.
- Ability to balance innovation, speed, and calculated risk-taking with security, governance, maintainability, reliability, cost, schedule, acquisition realities, and user adoption.
- Demonstrated ownership mentality, bias toward action, resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity, technical credibility, humility, and self-awareness.
- Experience supporting federal, public-sector, defense, intelligence, healthcare, or similarly complex enterprise customers is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting capture, proposal development, technical solutioning, customer-facing business development, or market shaping is preferred.
- Experience founding, scaling, advising, or operating within a high-growth technology startup, innovation lab, product incubation function, venture-building environment, or emerging-technology practice is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and solution recommendations clearly to executive and nontechnical audiences.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred field of study in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, Operations Management, Business, or related field of study.
- MBA or Master's Degree in a relevant technical, business, engineering, or management field is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
- Relevant cloud, architecture, product, agile, cybersecurity, data, or AI certifications are preferred.
- Examples may include AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, SAFe, PMP, ITIL, TOGAF, or comparable industry certifications.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead customer discussions, executive briefings, technical reviews, solution demonstrations, and early-stage opportunity-shaping conversations.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations in clear and practical business and mission terms.
- Strong facilitation and listening skills, including the ability to guide conversations from a stated requirement to the underlying operational need.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive technical and executive content in a highly confidential manner.
Clearance Requirements:
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
- An active DoD Top Secret clearance is desired.
Travel:
- Travel may be required based on customer, program, and business-development needs.
Environmental Requirements:
- Mainly a routine office environment.
- May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
- Flexible in working extended hours.
