- Responsible for the management of the Human Resource and Employee Relations function, which includes recruiting, employment, affirmative action, compensation, benefits, management training and development, and employee communications and onboarding.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to the personnel function.
- This position will be an integral part of the team, helping to promote a positive culture, address employee issues in a timely manner, and drive retention and engagement.
- This position will partner with leaders in the organization to support and provide guidance regarding employee relations issues and maintain documentation and filing of records.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for human resource planning and staffing. Seeing that the company has the people it needs in the required positions in a timely manner.
- The Human Resource Generalist must work closely with the VP, Operations to manage the human resource and employee relation functions to ensure the maximum productivity. This means keeping jobs filled and employees motivated through the corporations compensation, benefits, and communications activities.
- Develop and implement competitive compensation program within the budget restrictions of the company.
- Maintain competitive benefit programs for the company. Manage the day-to-day benefits activity throughout the organization in current manner. Ensure timely resolution of benefits claims and employee requests. Maintain current working knowledge of benefits laws and IRS requirements to ensure company compliance with laws and regulations regarding benefits.
- Maintain a current working knowledge of all state, federal, and local laws as they pertain to the human resource function in order to ensure compliance in a timely manner.
- Maintain all personnel policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in a current manner. Write and rewrite policies as needed. The policies and procedures are meant to assist supervisors in getting their jobs done as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
- Provide guidance and expertise to employees and supervisors in the management of the total human resources of the organization in a positive, flexible, and competent manner.
- Provide coaching to managers and supervisors on performance management issues.
- Process payroll and maintain all databases affiliated with vacation, occurrences, retention rates and turnover rates, be able to identify and provide to the VP, Operations findings of errors or excessive rates in all departments.
- Reviews, tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, etc.
- Facilitates new hire orientation and onboarding process.
- Assist in the development and update of job descriptions.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree in business or human resource management or equivalent experience in human resources, with 3 to 5 years of generalist experience.
- SHRM-CP and/or SHRM-SCP a plus.
- Knowledge of: Principles and practices of effective human resource management and personnel administration.
- Strong human relations skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
