About the role

As our OT Automation Engineer, you'll help develop innovative automation and robotics solutions that support future manufacturing capabilities across the LEGO Group. You'll work on concept creation, feasibility studies, proof-of-concepts, prototyping and testing activities that turn ideas into scalable manufacturing solutions. This is an opportunity to influence how automation, robotics and digital technologies are used in future factory environments while collaborating with teams across engineering, manufacturing and research functions.

Required Experience

- Delivered automation or robotics solutions from concept through implementation
- Applied PLC programming and troubleshooting within industrial control systems
- Developed and tested automation solutions in manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated technical contributions to automation, robotics or manufacturing improvement projects

- Built effective partnerships with engineering, manufacturing and project stakeholders to deliver automation solutions
- Communicated technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Worked fluently in English across global teams and multiple time zones

Nice to have

- Evaluated sensor technologies within automation systems and equipment designs
- Compared automation platforms and assessed strengths and limitations of different solutions
- Applied experience across multiple automation brands and technologies
- Contributed to proof-of-concept or prototype development initiatives

Life on the team

You'll join Operational Technology Innovation within the LEGO Group's Operations area. The team focuses on automation, robotics and digital manufacturing technologies that support production equipment globally. We work across Denmark, the Czech Republic, China and the United States, with a hybrid rhythm built around collaboration, knowledge sharing and strong partnerships. Curiosity, a genuine interest in new technologies, confidence working through ambiguity and the ability to build relationships across multicultural teams are all part of how we work together every day.

What success looks like

Success in this role means becoming a trusted contributor to future factory programmes and helping move automation concepts from ideas into testing and pilot phases. The team will focus on future packaging automation, proof-of-concepts and increasing automation maturity across future operations. You'll work closely with automation engineers, robotics specialists, manufacturing stakeholders, research teams and global project groups to help shape the manufacturing technologies of tomorrow.
