Facilities Worker

For over 60 years, Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs is a leading non-profit organization providing comprehensive programming in the fields of child welfare, childrens behavioral health, and special education. We proudly serve over 150 communities in MA, with our clients coming from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, who struggle predominantly with anxiety and trauma. These services are offered through; Residential, CBAT, and Intensive Treatment Programs, Special Education Day School, Therapeutic Middle-High School, Out-Patient and In-Home Therapeutic Services.

Walker seeks a Facilities Worker for their Needham campus to assist the Facilities Manager in the overall maintenance, upkeep and improvement of campus buildings. The successful candidate will have general maintenance and trade skills, including experience in carpentry and the ability to operate power equipment (lawn tractor, snowplow, etc.) as well as experience with minor plumbing and electrical repairs. Driver's license and on-call coverage (rotating basis) required.

Essential Functions for this position include :

- General maintenance and upkeep of all operational equipment, such as heating/ventilation systems, electrical systems, emergency systems, safety systems and maintenance department equipment

- Maintenance, upkeep and repair of grounds, including snow removal

- Maintenance, upkeep, repair and remodeling of all buildings, including, but not limited to, shampooing of carpets, sheetrock, vinyl and ceramic tile, painting, replacing / repairing doors and locks.

- Scheduling and facilitating regular maintenance and repair of agency vehicles

- Conduct regular inspections of all buildings.

- Other duties as assigned.

- Scheduled on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

Requirements: Driver's license and previous facilities experience.
