Associate Engineer - QA, Thrivent Asset Management

Job Summary

As an Associate Engineer – QA you are a key member of the engineering team and are accountable for reducing production defects and strengthening web site reliability.

In this role you will execute and document tests necessary to ensure thriventfunds.com and its associated technical environments meet performance requirements and are free from defects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designing Software

- Apply technical knowledge to work with other engineers to deliver outcomes
- Design, build, and maintain automated regression, integration, API, data validation, and end-to-end testing capabilities.
- Ability to work and problem solve collaboratively on initiatives that align to the broader software engineering strategy

Learning and Applying New Techniques

- Seek out opportunities to learn new technologies that improve testing practices and automation.

DevOps

- Participates in the team support rotation and builds knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager Cloud and AWS.
- Perform Automation, Smoke / Sanity Test, Functional Test, Integration Test and Regression Test and post implementation test as appropriate for delivery cycle.
- Follow defect life cycle in appropriate defect tracking tools

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience
- 0 to 2 years of Application Engineering experience
- Understanding of at least one programming language and design technique
- Knowledge of at least one Operating System and/or one Application Development Platform
- Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
- Knowledge of systems and software design concepts
- Knowledge/experience with querying databases for data lookup/update

Preferred:

- Financial Services industry experience
- One year of application engineering experience in quality assurance, quality engineering, test automation or software testing.
- Experience with test automation and frame works
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

This is a hybrid working arrangement, in office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $63,886.00 - $86,434.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
