About the Role:
We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to own product strategy and execution for one of Code Metal's core outcome areas. You will be helping customers in high-stakes environments translate, modernize, prototype, or port code across languages, standards, and hardware targets. You'll work closely with customers, engineers, and solutions engineering to turn deep technical capability into products that solve real problems across industries like automotive, aerospace, semiconductors, defense, and more.
Code Metal's code transformation scenarios span a range of language domains. They include C++, Rust, Python, CUDA, and MATLAB, among others; and new scenarios continue to emerge as the platform grows. You won't own all of them. Your specific charter will cover a subset, matched to your background and interests during the interview process, with room to expand into adjacent scenarios over time.
This is a growth role. You'll start with a focused charter with a defined subset of pipelines and customer scenarios, and expand scope as you build technical depth and organizational credibility. Success means balancing customer pain, technical constraint, and business priority to define what to build, why, and when.
This is a highly collaborative role where Product, Engineering, UX, and Growth operate as peers throughout discovery, planning, and execution.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own the roadmap for your outcome area end-to-end, from discovery through delivery and iteration, translating customer pain into prioritized product decisions
- Conduct customer discovery with technical stakeholders: engineers, architects, tech leads, and solutions engineering
- Quickly ramp into unfamiliar technical domains (language semantics, toolchains, hardware constraints) and synthesize what you learn into clear product direction
- Work side-by-side with Engineering to understand technical tradeoffs, shape implementation approaches, and make informed prioritization decisions throughout development
- Build and maintain a smaller roadmap that feeds into the broader platform roadmap
- Write clear PRDs that turn ambiguity into a specific plan
- Make thoughtful tradeoffs between customer value, technical complexity, and speed, and prioritize ruthlessly
- Represent your outcome area in cross-functional and customer-facing conversations, communicating decisions and rationale to technical and non-technical audiences alike
- Grow your charter over time — starting with a defined subset of pipelines/scenarios and expanding into adjacent ones as you demonstrate depth
Required Qualifications:
- Experience owning software products from discovery through launch in a technical B2B, enterprise, or platform environment
- 5+ years of Product Management experience building technical software products
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new industries, technologies, and customer domains without requiring deep prior subject-matter expertise
- Strong customer discovery and user research skills, with experience translating insights into roadmap decisions
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where priorities evolve as new information emerges
- Comfortable engaging with technical concepts such as language semantics, toolchains, or hardware constraints
- Demonstrated MVP thinking: the ability to scope the smallest valuable slice of a problem rather than defaulting to the full solution
- Self-awareness about the edges of your own expertise, and a track record of learning new technical domains quickly
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across executive, technical, and customer audiences
- Must be able to pass a standard background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building developer tools, platform products, compilers, embedded systems, or other technically sophisticated products where the customer is often another engineer or technical team
- Experience working directly with highly technical customers, engineers, and domain experts
- Prior exposure to automotive, kernel development, aerospace, semiconductor, or regulated/safety-critical industries
- Experience bringing new products from concept through launch in early-stage or high-growth environments
