How you’ll make an impact in this role
- Provide expert, direct nursing care for high-acuity patients in the immediate post-operative period, maintaining strict adherence to AORN/ASPAN standards and aseptic techniques.
- Evaluate physiological responses to anesthesia and surgical interventions, utilizing clinical expertise to anticipate case-specific needs and potential complications based on complex pathophysiology.
- Implement aggressive, individualized pain management strategies and therapeutic interventions to stabilize patients during the most vulnerable phase of surgical recovery.
- Function as a vigilant advocate in a Level 1 setting, continuously assessing patient stability to ensure safe transitions and optimal outcomes in a high-volume surgical environment.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Clinical Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- One or more of the following required: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preferences:
- 1 plus years ICU/ED/PACU RN experience.
- ACLS
- PALS
- 36 hours per week 9am- 9pm with on call.
