• Analyze customer, product, geography, transaction, and network activity data to support risk assessments, identify emerging risks, respond to adverse media alerts, and recommend control enhancements.
• Coordinate escalations, investigations, inquiries, and reviews of unusual or potentially suspicious activity, including preparation of clear analysis, recommendations, and supporting documentation.
• Review internal and external inquiries to assess AML risks and identify Customers with concerning compliance controls.
• Conduct AdHoc investigations by querying data warehouse data, analyzing that data to identify patterns of potentially suspicious activity, formulating a hypothesis on the activity identified for further review and validation by stakeholders and Customers.
• Respond to AML, sanctions, and financial crime-related requests from regulators, law enforcement, internal stakeholders, and other authorized parties, particularly in markets with local regulatory exposure.
• Support customer, service provider, and market engagement reviews, including site visits, third-party coordination, remediation activity, escalation management, and documentation of closure.
• Assess AML and sanctions risks associated with Mastercard products and services, and help ensure appropriate mitigating measures are identified and implemented.
• Share AML risk intelligence to support holistic customer risk assessments and provide guidance on shared customers across Mastercard business lines.
• Prepare management reporting, dashboards, presentations, and briefing materials that communicate key financial crime risks, trends, metrics, and recommended actions.
• Represent AML Compliance in regional risk forums, working groups, and governance forums, escalating higher-risk matters with clear supporting analysis and recommended mitigation steps.
• Recommend enhancements to AML and sanctions processes, procedures, policy frameworks, data quality, monitoring capabilities, governance, and supporting technology.
• Develop and deliver AML and sanctions training for internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate.
• Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, supervisory reviews, and remediation efforts by coordinating information requests, preparing evidence, and tracking corrective actions through closure.
• Contribute to special projects within Mastercard’s AML framework, including analytics, onboarding reviews, vendor oversight, and other program initiatives.
• Help foster a culture of compliance, accountability, inclusion, and belonging by reinforcing clear expectations, timely escalation, sound judgment, and effective risk-based decision-making.
