Magnum Piering in Cincinnati, OH is seeking to hire a full-time Logistics Manager who will play a key role in taking ownership of our domestic and international freight and transportation operations.

Job Description

- Negotiate full truckload (FTL) rates across U.S. shipping lanes.

- Source and negotiate LTL and parcel transportation rates.

- Work directly with freight brokers, carriers, dispatchers, and transportation providers.

- Post and manage company loads on appropriate broker/load boards.

- Build and maintain a network of dependable carriers and freight brokers.

- Compare freight rates and select transportation solutions based on cost, availability, and service.

- Coordinate daily freight shipments from pickup through final delivery.

- Communicate with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal team members throughout the shipment process.

- Resolve transportation issues including delays, missed pickups, damages, and accessorial charges.

- Maintain carrier, broker, rate, and shipment records.

- Review freight invoices and identify billing discrepancies.

- Track freight costs and identify opportunities to reduce transportation expenses.

- Work closely with Production, Shipping, Sales, and Customer Service to coordinate outbound shipments.

- Develop repeat relationships with carriers and brokers serving our primary shipping lanes.

Qualification Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Transportation, or related field, or equivalent experience.

- 5+ years of experience in freight, transportation, logistics, dispatch, or freight brokerage.

- Direct experience negotiating FTL rates.

- Experience working with freight brokers, and/or trucking carriers.

- Familiarity with load boards and freight marketplaces.

- Knowledge of U.S. freight lanes, transportation pricing, and common accessorial charges.

- Experience with LTL and parcel shipping.

- Strong negotiation and communication skills

- Excellent organization and follow-through

- Relationship building skills

- The ability to work independently and make quick transportation decisions.

- Strong computer skills, including Excel and transportation/logistics software.

- Experience with manufacturing, metal fabrication, industrial products, heavy freight, step-deck, or oversized shipments is a plus.

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion may be required to climb, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Vision abilities required to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk regularly on the phone and in person. Requires frequent sitting, standing or walking.
