Job Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Security Architect/Engineer to join our team supporting the end-to-end security lifecycle across the VA enterprise. You will support the design and development of security reference architectures, solution architects, architectural analysis, models, security patterns, and governance frameworks. You will also support technical workstreams to ensure consistent delivery of security outcomes and architectural alignment.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive Enterprise Security Engineering services to the VA, encompassing secure design assessment, configuration management, risk analysis, and modernization support across systems, applications, cloud, networks, data, identity, and platforms

- Support reviewing and enhancing security architectures, developing and maintaining security baselines and requirements, conducting rigorous risk and threat analyses, supporting compliance and modernization initiatives, and producing a suite of reports and deliverables to ensure the VAs technology environment remains secure, compliant, and aligned with federal standards and enterprise goals

- Review system, application, cloud, network, data, identity, and platform designs for security risks prior to implementation

- Evaluate all solution design artifacts to verify that security requirements are met

- Provide comprehensive configuration and baseline management services to ensure a consistent, secure, and compliant configuration posture across all VA systems, platforms, and technologies

- Develop, maintain, and update enterprise-wide security baselines for operating systems, databases, cloud native platforms, medical devices, Internet-of-Things (IoT) ecosystems, and other technologies used across the VA environment

- Develop and maintain a rigorous requirements engineering framework that enables automated traceability from foundational security controls and architectural pillars through system implementation and final ATO.

Qualifications
Required:

- Minimum of 10 years of Information Security Experience of which at least 5 years are of Cybersecurity and Cloud Security experience at a large Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA.

- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or related fields.

- Certification in one or more of the following: IAT III, IAM III or IASAE III certifications.

IAT III/ IAM III / IASAE III certifications may be substituted for a relevant Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant experience

- Expertise in cybersecurity architecture and engineering requirements and authorizations (FedRAMP/RMF) into systems and applications.

- Expertise in IT and Cloud security architecture design, security engineering, development, systems engineering, and implementation efforts.

- Expertise in Cloud solutions in federal and/or commercial industry.

- Expertise with Federal A&A and ATO activities.

- Expertise with security compliance requirements and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, CIS Controls, HIPAA).

- Must be a US citizen
