As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the most complex structural engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the highest standards of design and performance. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage complex structural engineering projects.

- Provide expert guidance on the design and analysis of metallic and composite structures. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated ground vehicles and test platforms.

- Perform structural analysis and validation throughout the product lifecycle from leading the analysis of structural components, reviewing the design, collaborating with cross-functional teams, integrating structural designs into overall systems, to overseeing the development and execution of structural tests.

- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.

- Develop and review detailed technical documentation and reports.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate with executive leadership to align structural engineering initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related role.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Expert understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Advanced knowledge of Static and/or Dynamic Analyses using industry standard hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as FEMAP, MSC Patran and Nastran.

- Experience analyzing steel structure, threaded fasteners and welds. Ability to author substantiation reports

- Exposure to requirements and loads development.

Qualifications We Prefer:

- Master’s or PhD in a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Recognized contributions to the field of structural engineering.
- Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS.
- Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW.
- Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods.
- Ability to author substantiation reports.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
- Familiarity with FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations.

Essential Functions:

- Recognized contributions to the field of structural engineering.

- Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tool FEMAP.

- Ability to author substantiation reports.

- Background in the Aerospace, Defense or Automotive Industry preferably with ground platform experience.

- Familiarity with AISC, ASTM, DoD, FAA and NASA design guidelines and regulations.

- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 - $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
