Operations Manager - Commerical Janitorial

City Wide Jani, Inc. is hiring an experienced Operations Manager to help lead, stabilize, and strengthen our commercial janitorial operations.

This is a hands-on field leadership role. We need someone who understands people, customers, quality, safety, follow-up, and accountability. This is not a desk-only administrative position.

The Operations Manager will oversee supervisors, leads, and cleaning technicians across multiple customer locations. This person must be able to manage staffing issues, customer concerns, inspections, quality control, scheduling, safety expectations, and day-to-day field execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily janitorial operations across customer locations
- Manage supervisors, leads, and cleaning technicians
- Address call-offs, staffing gaps, attendance issues, and service concerns
- Conduct site inspections and ensure quality standards are met
- Respond to customer complaints with urgency, professionalism, and follow-through
- Support new customer start-ups, site readiness, staffing plans, supplies, equipment, and scope verification
- Help strengthen safety practices, hazard awareness, and Job Safety Analysis/JSA documentation
- Track key operational metrics and manage by the numbers
- Review reports, identify trends, and use data to improve operations
- Coach, train, and develop supervisors, leads, and staff
- Build a “ready to help, can-do” service culture
- Protect customer relationships through communication, accountability, and consistent service
Minimum Qualifications
- 3–5 years of operations leadership experience in commercial janitorial, facility services, EVS, property management, building services, or field service operations
- Experience managing hourly field employees across multiple sites
- Experience with scheduling, staffing, inspections, customer complaints, and employee accountability
- Strong follow-up, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable traveling to customer sites throughout Chicago and surrounding suburbs
- Comfortable handling occasional early morning, evening, or urgent operational issues
Strongly Preferred
- Experience with safety documentation, JSA, risk assessments, or safety audits
- Experience launching new customer accounts or service start-ups
- Experience tracking KPIs, labor hours, attendance, complaints, inspection scores, response times, and customer retention
- Experience developing supervisors, leads, and front-line staff
- Familiarity with tools such as Asana, Clean Smarts, ADP, Outlook, Teams, or similar systems
Compensation and Benefits

Salary is $70,000 annually .

City Wide Jani does not currently offer company-sponsored health benefits for this role. We want to be transparent upfront. Bonus opportunities may be discussed after the first 90–180 days based on measurable results, including staffing stability, customer retention, inspection scores, customer complaints, response time, safety follow-through, and operational improvements.
