Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking an experienced Field Technician (Level 2 or 3) for our offices in Mesa, AZ .

Description of job :  Primary role is to provide onsite and offsite customer support, both domestic and international, for the operation and maintenance of chain gun family of cannons.    Travel to customer facilities, sponsored demonstrations and events, test support, and system development and integration either individually or as part of a team.  Percent of travel 25 to 50%.  Ability to work on weekends, swing and night shifts in support of customer requirements.

Additionally, this role includes the development and improvement of training materials and providing instruction on the operation and maintenance of the chain gun family through both lecture and hands on training.

Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.  Performs a variety of maintenance tasks and technical support on product equipment, integrated systems and subsystems.  Analyzes and evaluates product condition, operation and related performance.  Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems.  Installs, upgrades and removes products.  Performs work per engineering field change orders.

Maintains effective customer communications and relations.  Provides technical support to program management and other aftermarket service activities.  Coordinates problem resolution and material dispositions with engineering, quality and program management.

This role is not a hybrid position.  Position reports to the Manager for Product Support.

Basic Requirements

- Level 2- High School diploma & 2 years of related experience providing operation and maintenance instruction
- Level 3- High school diploma & 4+ years of related experience providing operation and maintenance instruction
- Understanding of weapons operating systems (i.e., recoil operated, gas operated, etc…)
- Ability to interpret Technical Manuals and safety policies
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret assembly and repair requirements
- Prior experience interfacing with customers with presentation and training experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite products

Preferred Skill Requirements :

- 1 year of technical proposal development, cost estimating or statement of work development experience
- 3 years of field service or other customer facing technical experience
- 3 years of armament manufacturing, maintenance, repair or overhaul experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $23.24 - $38.71

Secondary Level Salary Range: $27.61 - $46.06

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
