Job Summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Product Manager, User-ID to own and advance a foundational identity capability within our Strata network security platform.

User-ID enables organizations to connect identity context with network activity and security policy, supporting more precise identity-aware security controls across enterprise environments.

The Product Manager will own the strategy, roadmap, and feature lifecycle for User-ID and partner closely with engineering, customers, field teams, and product stakeholders across identity and network security.

The ideal candidate brings 1-5 years of strong technical product instincts and experience in IAM + networking/security exposure, and roadmap ownership of an identity product with the ability to work across these domains. The role requires the ability to understand complex technical problems, partner closely with engineering, and translate customer needs into clear product direction.

This role is based in our HQ, Santa Clara, California office and hybrid with onsite work 3 days a week.

Your Impact

- Own and drive the User-ID product strategy, roadmap, and feature lifecycle
- Define product requirements for identity-aware security capabilities across user mapping, authentication, identity integrations, and policy enforcement
- Partner with engineering to deliver capabilities related to user-to-IP mapping, Cloud Identity Engine, terminal server environments, workload identity, and related identity services
- Support integrations with identity technologies including Active Directory, LDAP, Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, SAML, OIDC, and RADIUS
- Gather requirements and feedback from enterprise customers, field teams, customer success, and internal stakeholders
- Translate technical and customer needs into clear product requirements and roadmap priorities
- Partner across engineering, UX, technical marketing, sales, customer success, and product teams to deliver capabilities from concept through launch
- Use customer, deployment, and product data to improve scalability, reliability, performance, usability, and adoption
- Develop technical product content, deployment guidance, and product enablement
- Use AI and modern product-development tools to accelerate research, analysis, prototyping, and product decision-making

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

1–5 years of relevant experience in product management, technical product management, technical marketing, engineering, or a related technical role

Experience in at least one of the following areas: identity/IAM, authentication, directory services, networking, network security, firewalls, Zero Trust, secure access, or enterprise security infrastructure

Experience partnering with engineering teams to define requirements and deliver technical products or features

Working knowledge of enterprise identity and/or networking concepts

Experience translating customer or technical needs into product requirements

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, OIDC, Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, or similar identity platforms

Experience with network security, firewalls, PAN-OS, Prisma Access, Panorama, Strata Cloud Manager, or comparable technologies

Experience owning or contributing to a product roadmap

Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers

Experience bringing enterprise software features or products from concept through launch

Familiarity with Zero Trust or identity-aware security architectures

Experience creating technical product content, deployment guidance, or field enablement

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
