The Paralegal is assigned to specific matters, clients, projects and/or attorneys and is responsible for providing high-level paralegal support through extensive coordination, legal research, and document management for the firm’s Consumer Financial Services litigation practice group. There is an annual billable requirement to this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, court records, public-record databases, and other approved resources.

- Analyze and summarize case law, statutes, regulations, legal publications, public records, and other authorities relevant to assigned matters.

- Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, trial, and post-trial proceedings.

- Use litigation-support, e-discovery, and case-management systems to review, search, code, organize, and manage case documents and transcripts.

- Coordinate document productions, including collecting, reviewing, indexing, Bates stamping, and quality-checking materials for compliance with applicable procedures and deadlines.

- Draft, revise, proofread, and prepare legal documents, factual summaries, deposition summaries, discovery materials, court filings, and other case-related work product.

- Prepare and manage deposition, hearing, and trial materials, including notebooks, exhibits, witness materials, pretrial disclosures, courtroom logistics, and onsite support.

- Organize and maintain correspondence, pleadings, discovery materials, transcripts, and official matter records in approved document-management and collaboration systems.

- Monitor deadlines, prioritize concurrent assignments, maintain accuracy, and communicate promptly about competing demands, resource needs, and potential delays.

- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative teams across practices and offices to support efficient client service.

- Train and support less experienced paralegals and legal support professionals.

- Record client-billable and administrative time and meet applicable billable-hour requirements.

- Perform assigned work in accordance with legal and ethical requirements, professional standards, firm policies, and confidentiality obligations.

- Follow complex instructions, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professionalism in all work activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, filing requirements, and legal terminology.

- Ability to analyze and summarize complex legal documents, case law, and factual materials with a high degree of accuracy.

- Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage and organize voluminous filings, documents, and records accurately and efficiently.

- Aptitude for learning and adopting new technologies and tools, with a commitment to continuously developing professional skills.

- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Superior grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and consistency across all work products.

- Proven ability to demonstrate flexibility and professionalism when navigating shifting assignments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume practice environment.

- Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail even under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.

- Unwavering professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.

- Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to take initiative, think critically, identify issues, and develop practical solutions with available resources.

Required Education:

- Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Education:

- N/A

Certification(s):

- Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program beneficial.

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a litigation paralegal.

- Demonstrated experience supporting complex litigation matters, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial preparation, and document management.

- Proficiency with legal research platforms, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and other legal databases.

- Experience with database file management systems such as iManage and a records management system.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Teams, Outlook, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in a multi-office law firm environment.

Hiring Salary Range:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00
