Reports to : VP of Accounting

Summary of Role: The Banking Specialist’s primary responsibilities are to manage banking and financial institution relationships, perform bank account administrative tasks, collaborate with accounting staff to implement automation tools related to banking within the system, and other projects as assigned.

Position Type: Full Time Hourly–Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities:

- Banking and Financial Relationships:

Manage nationwide banking and financial institution relationships.

- Facilitate and monitor cash movement and corporate account balances.

- Ensure streamlined compliance process.

- Perform bank account administrative tasks, including opening, closures, signatory updates.

- Monitor and update accounting team online access to bank accounts.

- Manage and process Positive Pay file uploads daily.

- Maintain banking relationship information, bank fee analysis, contact lists, and related documentation

- Strengthen approval workflows and controls over cash movement, wires, ACH payments, positive pay, account transfers, and bank platform access.

- Technology and Process Optimization:

Scope, implement, and optimize banking system tools

- Collaborate with Accounting to implement automation tools and enhance system interfaces with banks

- Optimize use of positive pay for each Banking Institution

- Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications and Experience

- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field desired but not required.

- 3 years prior relevant experience in treasury, cash management, banking administration

- Proven experience of economics and working with accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

- Strong Excel and analytical skills preferred.

- Understanding of internal controls over cash movement, banking access and approval workflows required.

- Ability to work cross-functionally with accounting groups and leadership.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly express needs to outside parties.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.

- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

- Constantly works in indoor office conditions.
