The Packaging Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at the manufacturing level. This role requires competence in a fast-paced environment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively interact with other members of the Team to ensure a positive culture and the best possible patient experience for our clientele. You will be reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Packaging Lead supports the manufacturing team in the packaging, labeling, and order fulfillment of cannabis-based products. This role ensures regulatory compliance, production efficiency, and adherence to quality and safety standards while guiding the packaging team to meet operational goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Coordinate day-to-day packaging schedules in collaboration with the Packaging Supervisor and Packaging Manager.
- Monitor production schedules and generate product labels using Nicelabel and ZDesign software.
- Conduct primary label inspections to ensure compliance with DCC regulations and internal quality standards.
- Maintain clear communication with leadership to obtain secondary label approvals prior to print execution.
- Ensure all label printing jobs are completed accurately and on time to support scheduled packaging operations.
- Set the pace of the packaging department to meet or exceed production targets.
- Troubleshoot packaging and labeling equipment to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Assemble and perform primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging for all cannabis products.
- Operate, maintain, and clean all packaging and labeling equipment according to safety and quality standards.
- Perform data entry and record keeping for traceability, inventory control, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure traceability logs and Chain of Custody records are completed accurately and in compliance with regulations.
- Follow strict sanitation and safety practices, including PPE use and participation in safety meetings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Work independently and collaboratively to support overall production and company goals.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve process quality, efficiency, and workflow.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Excellent computer, mathematical, language and reasoning skills
- Previous experience in cannabis industry (preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally Twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl
- Some heavy lifting may be required. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required.
- Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment.
- Must be comfortable operating and troubleshooting label printing equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- The job is performed indoors. Appropriate PPE will be provided.
