Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimating Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our production processes by accurately estimating project costs and timelines, ensuring competitive pricing and efficient resource allocation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal stamping, welding, and fabrication, with additional experience in tooling being highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Estimating department relative to the accuracy of the quotations and meeting the priorities established with the Sales group for quote completion.
Analyze all quote opportunities to determine if they meet Anchor’s threshold parameters for quoting. Report findings to appropriate Sales Rep &/ or Management.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for metal stamping, welding, and fabrication projects based on customer specifications and technical drawings.
Work with Engineering & applicable departments on active product engineering changes.
Communicate status of quote backlog with the sales group at the weekly sales meeting.
Represent the Estimating department when called on by the customer to clarify the quoting process.
Work to develop additional sources for the quoting of Capital Equipment needed for new projects.
Develop an environment that is continually searching for the most cost-effective way to process parts to maximize profit for the company.
Actively participate in the APQP process at Anchor, focusing on the estimating related questions in gates 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Coordinate the completion of customer feasibility forms & Cost Breakdowns as required.
Ensure the development of the other estimators in the department. Drive accountability within the Estimating Department.

Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Journeyman Die Maker, or equivalent in experience.
- Three years of experience in managing projects
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and materials
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications, strong GD&T skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Prior experience in the industries of automotive, appliance, or heavy truck is preferred
Salary Description
Based upon experience, range is $75,000 - $115,000
