Job Summary
QSAC is looking for dedicated school nurses (RN) to support children with autism in our preschool program in Queens.
The pay rate for this position is $45 an hour.
This is a part-time position from 9am to 2pm (5 hours a day / 5 days a week). Schedule follows a school calendar and includes 6 weeks during the summer (July to mid-August). The QSAC preschool hours are 8am to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
Health & Administration
- Oversee general health issues for students with autism in the schools.
- Assist in tracking and obtaining annual medical and immunization records.
- Maintain confidential medical records.
- Assess student illness when students are sick in school.
- Contact parents for pick-up and/or medical establishments as needed. (i.e.: ER, Urgent Care, etc.)
- Supervise students waiting for parent pick-up.
- Consult with parents and/or healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medical treatments are provided to children being supported.
- Maintain medical/health related supply inventory.
- Attends internal team meetings as needed.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Vaccination required.
- 1-2 years RN highly preferred. School nurse experience a plus
- Valid NYS RN license in good standing required.
