About this role

Lead the Supply Chain Planning function at the Altoona facility in the management and continuous improvement of inventory turns, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, and production achievement. Primary responsibilities include ownership of the site-level sales and operations planning process (S&OP), plant scheduling, inbound material coordination, inventory management, outbound shipping, and kanban replenishment systems.
This role is expected to drive execution and continuous improvement of materials flow — from receipt of purchased goods through delivery of finished product — serving as the primary operational bridge between corporate procurement and the Altoona Focus Factories (TLS, Red Jacket, DRB).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage inventory levels across all site locations to meet build requirements while continually driving down excess inventory and improving working capital in support of plant KPIs and financial targets.
• Coordinate inbound material flow from the corporate procurement team, ensuring purchased goods are received, stored, and delivered to production lines in support of active build schedules.
• Oversee outbound shipping and logistics operations, ensuring finished goods are delivered to customers accurately and on time.
• Work with corporate purchasing to align procurement lead times, order quantities, and delivery schedules with site inventory targets and production plans.
• Effectively manage all inventory transactions (volume and accuracy) while striving to reduce errors and improve transactional integrity across all three site locations.
• Monitor levels of excess and obsolete inventory and disposition appropriately in coordination with operations and finance.
• Lead and execute the site S&OP process, aligning plant build targets with end customer demand, supplier delivery schedules, and company financial targets.
• Maintain full responsibility for plant activities during physical inventory events while implementing and sustaining a robust cycle counting program.
• Drive performance improvements and accountability across the operations team with regard to inventory integrity, material flow accuracy, and product availability.
• Execute short-term and mid-term improvement objectives and report results weekly/monthly through Policy Deployment and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain, optimize, and continuously improve the site kanban materials replenishment system, ensuring pull signals are accurate, current, and responsive to production demand changes.
• Act as the primary operational liaison between corporate purchasing and the Focus Factories/Product Lines (TLS, Red Jacket, DRB) to ensure alignment of supply and build goals, and to resolve material availability issues quickly.
• Establish and maintain communication with the supply base as needed to reduce supply disruptions and support achievement of build plans.
• Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of direct reports including: Sr. Manager, Shipping & Logistics; Supervisor, Production & Inventory Control; and Manager, Material Planning.

WHO YOU ARE — QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or an equivalent field of study. Advanced degree a plus.
• Effective people leader with demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts across functions and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization — downward, laterally, and upward.
• Ability to balance tactical day-to-day execution against monthly and quarterly targets while maintaining a 1–3 year operational improvement mindset consistent with functional strategy ownership.
• 6+ years of materials, inventory, and supply chain management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Minimum 2 years of direct people leadership experience required.
• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, with emphasis on pull replenishment and kanban systems required.
• Effective problem solver with the ability to differentiate symptoms from root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Proficient in ERP systems (super-user level preferred) and capable of leveraging system data to drive inventory, scheduling, and material flow decisions.
• Strong working knowledge of S&OP processes, production scheduling, cycle counting, and warehouse/logistics operations.
• Experience managing cross-functional handoffs between procurement, warehousing, production, and shipping functions strongly preferred.
