Quality Control Technician

Actively Interviewing for a Quality Control Technician to join personal care and cosmetic brand company in Stonecrest, GA! Description The Quality Control Technician supports the plant quality and regulatory programs for cosmetic hair and skin care products. The technician performs testing on raw materials and finished products, carries out in-process and first article inspections on the production floor, documents deviations and non-conforming material, owns the Quality Hold area and the calibration of test equipment, and maintains quality records. Because laboratory and manufacturing operations are co-located, the role works directly and daily with both Production and Research & Development, supporting R&D prototype documentation, batch adjustments and new product introduction alongside routine commercial testing. Essential Duties:

- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Perform QC testing on raw materials and finished products, including pH, viscosity, specific gravity, % solids, microbiological and fill weight determination
- Perform in-process and final finished product inspections daily, and ensure all required quality checks are completed each production shift
- Perform first article checks on scale-up and production batches and document the results
- Support the release of compound batches under the direction of the Lead, Quality Assurance
- Print batch tickets and enter batch records in Formulator
- Complete the necessary documentation for all deviations and rejections of non-conforming material
- Place non-conforming material into the Quality Hold area and maintain hold records
- Complete and maintain all retains
- Perform calibrations of test equipment on schedule and record the results
- Weigh materials, products, containers and samples to verify packaging weights and ingredient quantities
- Perform daily analysis of electronic quality data and support periodic quality performance reporting
- Complete and maintain documentation and reports for manufactured batches and for R&D laboratory prototypes
- Support R&D with batch adjustments where product does not meet specification, and with new product introduction
- Support the preparation of ingredient listings for new and reformulated products
- Support the review of artwork labels for accuracy
- Support the preparation of dossiers and documentation for international regulatory requirements
- Support completion of product registrations
- Liaise with contract laboratories for product challenge testing and safety testing as directed
- Communicate with contract manufacturers regarding components
- Order and receive quality-related materials from vendors
- Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting them
- Assist R&D and production staff with other tasks as needed
- Perform additional related duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two or more years of hands-on quality control or laboratory testing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience performing wet chemistry testing personally, and documenting the results
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology or a related scientific discipline preferred, not required
- Experience in cosmetic, personal care, OTC, nutraceutical or food manufacturing preferred
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lithonia, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
