The Opportunity

As a dedicated Mid-Level Mortgage Real Estate Closer, you will define guidelines and framework, coordinate all aspects of the Real Estate mortgage loan closing process for Real Estate mortgage loans. You will Prepare Closing Disclosure and final closing package in a timely manner and ensure they meet all stated guidelines and regulatory and compliance standards. You will work directly with the title agents to ensure receipt of closing docs in advance of the scheduled closing date. You will conduct quality review of final closing package and complete the funding checklist in advance of providing title agent funding authorization.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is based in Phoenix, AZ.

What you'll do:

- Responsible for the mortgage loan closing process including validating all required data, fees, and compliance requirements. Prepares and generates state specific final loan closing packages, for a high volume of mortgage loans, in accordance with established investor guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Meets or exceeds monthly performance goals to include production, quality compliance and member satisfaction.
- Responsible for sending prior to close packages to title companies and attorneys to initiate closing collaboration.
- Confirms fees input by processor are accurate, makes necessary updates and prepares Closing Disclosure (CD).
- Effectively collaborates with internal and external partners to obtain required acceptance of CD.
- Reviews all final signed closing documents for accuracy and completion. Responsible for balancing and ordering the wire. Ensures all required documentation complies with state, federal, investor and regulatory guidelines.
- Adheres to established Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) Proactively manages workload to meet member's close date and preserve the member and closing agents' experience.
- Serves as primary point of contact with closing agents to communicate status and address file specific questions. Initiate outbound calls or emails to title companies to obtain all documents required for closing and funding.
- Collaborates with internal business partners to resolve loan level issues.
- Provides continuous feedback on opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Completes mortgage product training and assessments, as required by the business.
- Shares best practices with the team related to increased efficiency and achieving quality targets.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- 2 years of Mortgage Closing related experience within a financial services organization.
- Proven working knowledge of TRID and RESPA regulations.
- Detailed working knowledge of state specific closing requirements.
- Successful completion of first mortgage closing proficiency assessment during onboarding or during training while in role.
- Demonstrated experience with prioritization and organization to meet high volume business needs for accurate mortgage loan processing and exceptional member service.

What sets you apart:

- 3+ years experience Mortgage Closing at a National Real Estate Lender
- Completed Bachelor Degree
- US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $48,340 - $86,630 .

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
