Art Curator

Our Art Curator is CID’s resident art expert, responsible for sourcing and curating compelling art collections and signature installations, while leading and mentoring our team and cultivating strong relationships with artists, vendors, and the creative community.  The ideal candidate brings an awareness of both trend and timelessness, with a background in art, interior design, or a related field. This role requires a strong foundation in art history, a refined design sensibility, exceptional attention to detail and communication skills, and, above all, a genuine passion for the role of art in the built environment.

What You'll Do

- Lead art curation across CID’s art consultancy, client projects, events, Open Studio, and Art House, building relationships with artists and creative partners to expand our art offering.
- Collaborate with creative teams, firm principal, and clients to understand their art preferences in order to curate a collection that aligns with their vision and budget.
- Lead and manage client art presentations with clients to align with project vison, and CID aesthetics and branding. 
- Source, select and curate art collections that align with our clients' design aesthetic and brand identity
- Build upon existing network and develop new relationships with artists, galleries, and art dealers to source new and creative pieces. 
- Collaborate with Creative, Design, and FFE Studios to ensure that the art collections complement and enhance the overall project design scheme. 
- Partner with our FFE teams on facilitating, logistics and installation of art collections, ensuring that they are installed in a timely and efficient manner. 
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the art world, and bring innovative and creative ideas to each project.
- Promote and mentor our teams to enhance their knowledge of art as it relates to our design industry

What You Bring

- Bachelor's degree with keen knowledge of art history, fine arts, or related. 
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality or multi-family interior design setting.
- WELL AP certification and other industry experience as needed
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary art, production art, and design trends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, designers, and vendors.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Knowledge of the logistics and technical aspects of art installation.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Mentoring, teaching, and collaborative teamwork style.
