Role Description:

This role supports the US Prime business line which consists of Nomura's Cash Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Prime Brokerage and Equity Finance activities. As the financing and securities services arm of the Global Markets Equities division, Prime Finance provides margin financing, securities lending and borrowing, synthetic financing (total return swaps and portfolio swaps), delta one and index products, and related clearing and custody services to hedge funds, asset managers and institutional clients globally.

The candidate is expected to have 10+ years of product control experience supporting a Prime Finance business. The ideal Product Controller will be highly attentive to detail and risk, uphold a strong control environment, and be able to drive interaction with stakeholders from numerous functions and regions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Daily and monthly P&L for US Prime Finance, including sign-off on flash-to-actual analysis, reconciliations, manual adjustments and balance sheet attestation.

- Close interaction with the trading desk, Treasury, Middle Office/Ops, IT, Market Risk, Financial Reporting, Regulatory, and IPV teams to resolve booking, valuation, and financial resource usage-related issues - with particular focus on leveraged ETF and D1 products.

- Provide analysis of Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), and financial resource consumption (balance sheet, leverage exposure, RWA, NSFR), including the drivers behind day-over-day and variance analysis, and the implications for business decision-making.

- Represent Product Control in governance and risk forums; present issues, remediation plans and control status to senior audiences, and act as the primary point of contact for Internal Audit, external audit and regulatory reviews affecting the business line.

- Serve as primary point of contact to the US Prime desk head and senior business management on revenue drivers, margin trends, financing spreads and balance sheet usage.

- Support new business initiatives and new product from a Product Control perspective - assessing P&L, valuation, booking model and financial resource implications ahead of launch.

- Drive the change and technology agenda for the Prime Product Control platform - shaping requirements, prioritizing the book of work, and partnering with Technology teams to deliver automation, standardization and scalable process design.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

- 10+ years of Product Control experience, with deep specialization in Prime Finance, Equity Finance and/or Equity Derivatives; prior coverage of both cash and synthetic prime is strongly preferred.

- Demonstrable experience managing and developing a team and operating credibly with front-office and senior Finance stakeholders.

- Strong technical grounding in financing product valuation, accounting treatment and financial resource metrics (balance sheet, leverage exposure, RWA, funding); familiarity with US regulatory reporting and broker-dealer requirements is an advantage.

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting; professional qualification (CPA, CA, CFA) preferred.

- Track record of delivering process improvement and technology-led change in a Product Control or Finance environment.

- Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of data and automation tooling (SQL, Python, VBA, Alteryx, Tableau/Power BI) preferred over legacy Access/VB.

- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to distil complex financial outcomes into a clear narrative for senior audiences.
