Here's how a Solar Designer for PCL Solar Constructors Canada Inc. within Solar Canada contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

- Responsible for the creation of conceptual greenfield utility scale Solar Facilities and Battery Energy Storage Systems

- Reviews applicable codes, regulations and developer specifications.

- Completes all calculations and electrical analysis.

- Prepares quantity takeoffs.

- Assists in completing package QA/QC, including conducting quality checklists.

- Conducts preliminary electrical system modelling

- Completes preliminary production modelling

- Assists the project team with design and analytical support

- Creates and maintains schedules and monitors performance.

- Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, architecture, trade or a related field.

- 0-1 years of progressive experience as drafter/designer is preferred

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D

- Working knowledge of ETAP Considered an asset

- Working knowledge of PVsyst considered an asset

- Ability to learn and apply basic construction principles, specifications, and procedures.

- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including supervisors, developers, suppliers, and subtrade partners.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

- Experience with GitHub and Python language an asset

The estimated salary range for this role is $60,000 - $82,000 based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
