Job Title: Embedded Linux Integration and Test Engineer Job Description This role focuses on integrating and testing embedded Linux-based energy and charging system controllers. You will design scalable regression testing solutions, build and maintain advanced test environments, and collaborate closely with system software and BSP engineers to ensure high-quality, reliable embedded Linux platforms across a growing product portfolio. Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable regression testing frameworks for embedded Linux platforms, integrating them with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and PyTest.
- Collaborate with system software and BSP engineers to validate hardwaresoftware interactions and debug complex embedded Linux issues.
- Build and maintain HIL and SIL test environments using programmable power supplies, managed switches, IoT relays, and other hardware-in-the-loop components.
- Develop AI-driven tools to analyze test data, predict failures, and automate triage workflows to improve test efficiency and reliability.
- Partner with QA and test automation teams to define comprehensive test strategies and ensure alignment with system-level requirements.
- Aid in the validation of codebase changes to ensure the quality and robustness of shipped embedded Linux code.
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other debugging tools to investigate hardware-related issues and verify system behavior.
- Translate technical documentation and system requirements into clear, testable specifications and executable test cases.
Essential Skills
- 12 years of experience in embedded systems development (RTOS, Linux, or bare-metal) with a focus on testing, integration, or deployment.
- Strong proficiency in Python for test development, automation, and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins and related automation workflows.
- Practical experience with test frameworks, specifically PyTest, for regression and integration testing.
- Solid understanding of embedded Linux platforms and embedded software integration concepts.
- Strong understanding of embedded hardware debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Knowledge of networking protocols including CAN, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and translate requirements into testable specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with Golang and Rust as additional programming languages is a plus.
- Experience working with programmable power supplies, managed switches, and IoT relays in test environments.
- Exposure to Hardware Abstraction Layers and HIL setup components.
- Experience building or contributing to AI-driven tools for test data analysis and failure prediction.
- Experience in collaborating with QA and test automation teams on test strategy and coverage.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palo Alto, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $68.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
